Emirates Flight Catering provides in-flight catering and support services to over 100 airlines across the globe from its catering units at Dubai International Airport.
All airline and airport production, operational and supply chain processes are now consolidated in the EKFC East Wing and EKFC West Wing facilities (formerly known as EKFC 1 & EKFC 3).
Combined, the units make up a truly impressive facility. They span 174,000 square metres and incorporate the highest level of automation available to airline catering facilities, including a 4.2km-long electric monorail which transports meal carts, and a 2.4km-long conveyor system for transferring clean items from the equipment cleaning area to the production kitchen for food plating and then on to the operational areas for flight packing. The facilities also feature a vacuum waste system with pipes over 600 metres in length. Both facilities feature the latest systems in hygiene, energy saving and automated food production equipment.
The technologically advanced catering facility, EKFC West Wing, is the brand new premium facility that is dedicated to all Emirates Premium Class servicing, for over 250 flights per day. Furthermore, EKFC West Wing provides over 10,000 meals per day for the airport lounges, which requires an average of 6 tonnes of raw materials per day. The EKFC West Wing team deliver the best Dubai has to offer in fine dining and on one of the world’s youngest aircraft fleets.
The EKFC East Wing facility services all other airlines landing and departing from Dubai International and Al Maktoum International Airports. This includes flydubai and over 100 airline customers. In addition to legacy commercial carriers, EKFC East Wing services private aviation and VIP flights. With a multitude of different menus and dining concepts offered onboard by our airline customers, diverse menu designs and delivery to each airline customer's specification is a testament to the skills of the Flight Catering teams.
The EKFC East Wing facility provides food and beverage services to 19 airline hospitality lounges located at Dubai International Airport’s concourses and DWC.
Our five-story CCU facility was also recently added to EKFC East Wing to house full-fledged bakery and commissary sections. With current daily production of 500,000 bakery items, a daily protein and vegetable turnover of 20,000kg each, the bakery and commissary sections are on-track to be the largest of their kind under the same roof.
We employ over 6,000 employees including chefs experienced in every culinary tradition, from sushi for Japanese routes to regional curries for flights to the Indian sub-continent, and every cuisine in between. In fact, our team of international chefs comprise 69 different nationalities, each bringing their years of culinary expertise to the customer.
We operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and provide full in-flight catering services, with each meal meeting the exact requirements specified by our customers.
